Networking tutorial pack
Is there anything more nerve-wracking for a new-to-the-scene comic artist than getting your foot in the door? Not knowing anyone online or in-person, wanting to show your work to others, and having to strike up a conversation... or even build a career? How do we make an impression on others AND make sure that it's a great one?
Fun story: this tutorial tracks my own journey from a nobody to someone who knows a ton of people in the comics industry! With a bit of effort on your end and some socially acceptable follow-through, soon you'll be making connections (and perhaps some friends) on your way to building your career.
In this Shingworks tutorial, we'll go over some easy techniques for a complete novice to go from being an unknown to a known! In addition to the tutorial, you'll have a giant 21-page supplement worksheet with application exercises, conceptual questions, and pointed guidance for your own journey into interacting with others. This version of the tutorial and supplement has been updated for the Roarin' 20's and having to do a lot of networking online and appropriately distanced !
Note: this tutorial is mostly geared towards the comics industry, artists with a smaller following, and artists with a passion for creating but are less adept at putting themselves out there. If you're already pretty good at cold-emailing and making friends, this tutorial will be less helpful!
Have fun, and thanks for looking :]
